COVID-19 VIRUS INFORMATION

March 18, 2020

Dear Residents,

On March 12, 2020, Governor Asa Hutchinson confirmed the first presumptive positive case of coronavirus, known as COVID-19, in Arkansas. Two cases have been confirmed positive in Cleburne County.

Please know that The City of Heber Springs is working with the appropriate healthcare officials to ensure we have the most current information.  To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will practice social distancing.  We have temporarily closed our offices to protect and care for those who work for you, the public.

We will still be available by phone, email, and social media during our regular business hours. Please reach out to us at 501-362-3635, www.cityofheber.com, or via Facebook if we can be of service.  If there are other ways, we can assist our community during this difficult time, please let us know, and we will do everything that we can.

We are all in this together.  We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can continue to support our community as needed.

We encourage you to follow the guidelines determined by the Arkansas Department of Health and the CDC.

If you suspect you have symptoms of the flu or COVID-19, call your healthcare provider or the hospital to let them know you need to be seen. Proper precautions can be taken before your arrival to keep everyone safe.

You can take personal precautions as well. Wash your hands often and thoroughly with soap. Cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe and healthy.

Mayor

Jimmy Clark
